ABOUT SHELAVON

dISCOVER.

My creative journey began in Hip-Hop. Before media, production, or on‑air work, there was a teenage girl with a pen, a mic, and something to say. Music was the first chapter and the foundation that shaped everything that came after.

As Shelly B, I spent more than a decade performing across the Southeast and building a voice that connected with people. I released projects, created visuals, collaborated with artists, and poured myself into a culture that raised me. Those years taught me how to command a stage, how to tell a story, and how to build a brand from the ground up. They also opened doors, leading to features in major publications and recognition throughout the region.

As time passed, I found myself drawn to the stories behind the music. I became curious about the people, the journeys, and the culture shaping the culture. That curiosity led me into media. I began writing, interviewing, and creating content that highlighted the voices around me. My personal website became a home for storytelling, and I contributed to outlets across entertainment and lifestyle spaces. I shifted from being the one in front of the mic to the one shaping the narrative.

Community has always been at the heart of my work. Over the years, I organized events, charity initiatives, and creative platforms that brought artists and audiences together. Whether hosting award shows, producing panels, or building programs that gave back, I stayed committed to using my voice and my platform with purpose.

In time, I stepped deeper into media production. I studied broadcasting and digital media, learned the technical side of storytelling, and expanded my skills into videography, scriptwriting, and content development. That chapter opened doors into newsroom environments and production roles that broadened my perspective even further.

The transition from artist to journalist, from performer to producer, from being the story to telling the story, has given me a unique lens on creativity and culture. Interviews with artists, actors, athletes, and changemakers have strengthened my voice as a storyteller and deepened my understanding of what it means to capture truth with intention.

Today, my work continues to evolve. Whether I am producing content, hosting, writing, or supporting the creative process behind the scenes, my purpose remains the same. I aim to amplify voices, honor culture, and create stories that resonate. My journey is rooted in faith, growth, and the belief that we are all becoming who we were designed to be.
